Bright pops of color are perfect for today’s floral birthday cards. For my November submission into Altenew’s Inspiration Challenge, I’ve opted for pink Gardenia’s layered atop a trellis background. See below for the inspiration photo, and keep scrolling to see how I used that inspiration to create 2 bright birthday cards.
A video of this project is live over on my YouTube Channel. Click below to check it out.
Today’s floral birthday cards begin with stamping some Gardenia’s and leaves. I followed the stamping guide included with the stamp set, so the layering was easy. After stamping, I used the coordinating die cuts to trim.
To bring in the navy and turquoise, I added a trellis background using the new Trellis die from Altenew. I paired each trellis with a card base cut from the same cardstock.
To accent my layering, I added a double stitched circle. After stamping and embossing my sentiment (from Altenew’s Geometric Landscape stamp set) I trimmed them using stitched Fishtail flags from My Favorite Things.
Distress Collage Medium and adhesive foam from Scrapbook.com helped hold everything together, and add a bit of dimension. A quick trim of overhanding bits completed these floral birthday cards.
I am loving the trellis die – which I purchased with proceeds of being selected as one of the five winners from Altenew’s September Inspiration challenge. This is a fun challenge, and I suggest you give it a try and submit your own card. To see my September submission post, Click Here.
I hope you like my floral birthday cards, I was definitely needing some more birthday cards in my stash, and these are a perfect addition!
