Easy Birthday Card

Creating handmade cards does not need to take a lot of time. Sometimes, a few minutes is all I have to pull together something. Today’s card utilizes a couple elements and a few minutes, but yields a great card nonetheless.

When I am working on different techniques, I sometimes end up with pieces I do not use immediately. This goes for die cut images, Copic colored images, even backgrounds. I keep these items organized in small storage containers for future use. Today, I pulled a card panel from my card panel stash.

This panel was created by stamping Simon Says Stamp Leaves Background stamp in scrapbook.com Pine ink. I trimmed the card to a little smaller than an A2 card using Waffle Flower’s A2 Layers Die.

I adhered the panel to an A2 card base cut from Gina K Kraft cardstock. Using The Stamp Market’s Oblong Hexagon die set, I cut two hexagons – one from Kraft cardstock, another slightly smaller from Neenah Solar White cardstock.

On the smaller hexagon, I stamped a sentiment from Mama Elephant’s Scripty Bday set using the pine ink. I layered the hexagons, then adhered them to the card base, and this card was complete!

The pine paired with the kraft cardstock is pleasing, and the simple script sentiment adds a whimsy air to the card. Such a great card and a wonderful gift, regardless of the time constraint.
