Valentine’s Day is this week and I’ve created a great card for my husband that is masculine, yet still ‘Valentine-y’. Simplicity meets sophistication in this traditional Valentine’s card for men.
Supplies
Gina K Cardstock in Black Onyx and Cherry Red
Sunny Studio Quilted Hearts Embossing Folder
VersaMark Watermark Ink
Close to My Heart Because I Love You (from my Vault, this set is old!!)
Ranger Gold Embossing Powder and Wagner Heat Tool
Gina K Connect Glue and Scotch Foam Tape
Uni-ball Signo pen in Gold
Cardstock
Start by creating an A2 card base using black cardstock. Next, trim a panel from red cardstock measuring 4” x 5 1/8” then place in embossing folder and run through die cutting machine. Adhere red panel to card base using liquid glue.
As this project is for a Valentine’s card for men, I’ve selected bold red and black for a color palette.
Sentiment
Stamp selected greeting using VersaMark ink, then heat emboss using your favorite embossing powder. Trim panel to desired size and accent border with Gold pen if desired. This adds some interest to the card giving it a more finished look.
Adhere sentiment panel to card using foam tape. If desired, add a mat of white cardstock inside card for a handwritten message.
This Valentine’s Card for men is quick to put together and appeals to those who prefer bold colors and simple designs. Easy to customize to your on-hand supplies, this card is a great standard design for your repertoire.
