Sending Happiness

Sending Happiness

Sometimes I just want to send a card, for no other reason than to bring a smile to another’s face. Today’s card is perfect for sending happiness! To see the video tutorial, click the link below.

Stamping & Coloring

For coloring, stamp images with Gina K amalgam ink. This ink is safe for use with Copic Markers as the ink does not react with the alcohol in the markers. Let dry thoroughly before coloring.

For the sentiment, VersaFine Pigment Ink for Fine Details is great as it leaves crisp images even when the stamp has thin lines.

Die Cutting and Embossing

First, cut colored images using a die cutting machine using Happy Mail coordinating dies.

Next, select two colored card stocks in colors coordinating with your die cuts. Trim a rectangle from each card stock – one measuring 2 1/2” x 2 3/4”, the second measuring 3” x 3 1/4”.

Run these rectangles through a die cutting machine with the stitched Fine Trimmings die placed at the edge. Reposition the die at a new edge and repeat running through machine. Four passes will be required to obtain the pattern along all sides.

Trim sentiment panel to 5/8” x 4 1/4”, and repeat steps above to add stitched border to all sides.

Place an A2 sized card panel inside an embossing folder and run through die cutting machine.

Finishing

Adhere embossed panel to prepared card base using adhesive of choice. Set aside.

Pop up sentiment strip using foam tape. Then, layer and glue, two rectangles together then adhere stack to card using scotch foam tape. Use a T-Ruler to aid in alignment.

Pop up stamp images above rectangles using foam adhesive shapes

If desired, add additional die cuts inside card and stamp a sentiment. With that, the card is complete!

The fun images and bright colors of this card are perfect for sending happiness to a friend. The white embossed panel helps prevent the bright colors from overtaking the card, while also adding a bit of texture.
