More Masculine Cards

More Masculine Cards

I’m really stocking up on my stash with more masculine cards! Today’s tutorial includes stamps from Pink Fresh Studio and dies from My Favorite Things. These products pair well with a selection of masculine ink colors from Gina K Designs.

Card 1 - Stamping

To achieve a fun multi-colored image, ink only portions of the stamp for each color. Start with lightest color (Kraft) and ink only sections rather than entire stamp. Stamp onto cardstock, then repeat steps with additional colors (Red Velvet and Plum Punch) inking stamp in different areas each time. This technique can be completed in a random pattern or in a prescribed manner.

Card 1 - Die Cutting

Cut three sets of ‘best wishes’ sentiment, two from white cardstock and a third from a coordinating colored cardstock (Red Velvet). Use liquid glue to adhere the three layers together with the colored cardstock being the top layer.

Cut one stitched square from Kraft cardstock. The Stitched Squares die-namics set from My Favorite Things has multiple sizes available, I used the 2 5/8” square.

Card 1 - Finishing

To complete card, cut an A2 sized card panel (5 1/2” x 4 1/4”) from Kraft card stock and adhere to a card base ((5 1/2” x 8 1/2” folded in half). Trim inked card panel to 4 3/4” x 3 1/2” and adhere on top.

Take note of diamond pattern as you trim card stock, then adhere stitched square centered atop. Finish card by adhering ‘best wishes’ sentiment above.

The kraft cardstock helps tone down the multi-colored panel, and the geometric lines keep the card from becoming too ornate. I’m quite pleased with how this card turned out!

Card 2 - Stamping

With Pink Fresh Studio’s Pop Out stamps, multi-colored stamping is easy! To easily center this stamp over card stock, I work backwards from my normal procedure.

Begin by flipping a Misti stamping tool upside down, and mount stamp directly onto lid. Next, place some repositionable adhesive onto a card panel, and center the card panel above stamp, adhesive side up.

Then, close Misti and press firmly to adhere card panel to Misti base. Finally, flip entire Misti right side up and you are ready to stamp!

The Pop Out Sunburst stamp has 18 rays and a centered circle. Today’s card does not need the circle stamped. Using three colors is perfect for this stamp as 18 is equally divisible by three.

Start by determining a ray to start with (#1) and remove the next two (#2 & #3). Set aside removed rays in a similar pattern so you can easily locate them. Continue around the sunburst, repeating the pattern. Leaving #1, removing #2 & #3. You should have six rays remaining. Next, ink stamps and make impression. Clean stamps, and you are ready to move onto next color.

Begin by replacing the ray to the right (or clockwise) of the ray just stamped (#2). Once ray #2 is positioned, remove #1. Move around the sunburst repeating until all #2 rays are placed. Ink, stamp, and repeat steps for #3 rays.

Card 2 - Die Cutting

Cut three sets of ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment, two from white cardstock and a third from a coordinating colored cardstock (Blue Denim). Use liquid glue to adhere the three layers together with the colored cardstock being the top layer.

Cut one stitched rectangle from Wild Dandelion cardstock. The Stitched Rectangles die-namics set from My Favorite Things has multiple sizes available, I used the 3 1/4” x 2” rectangle.

Card 2 - Finishing

Adhere stamped card panel to an A2 card base. Then top with die cut rectangle using Scotch Foam Tape. Finish by adhering sentiment using liquid glue. Nuvo Crystal Drops in Midnight Blue is great for replacing the tittle (the dot above the ‘i’) as those small pieces are hard to keep track of when die cutting.
