Today’s moon-themed card is an easy project with a fantastic focal point. Using Altenew’s layering stamps gives the moon a very realistic look, while simple colors keep the card masculine and perfect great for both boys and men. This moon-themed card is a great project for beginner card makers.

Stamping
Begin by stamping the moon image. Use a stamp positioner to assist with correct alignment of moon layers. First, layer with your lightest color. Second, the mid-tone, and finally the darkest. Use imagery included with stamp set to help position the layers correctly.
Next, stamp sentiment on white cardstock, allow enough room for die cutting later.
Die Cutting
Align coordinating moon die with moon image. Using a circle die (Sizzix Framelets Circle dies is a fantastic standard die in my supplies) cut a piece of craft foam sized just smaller than moon image. This will be used to pop-up moon image.
Trim sentiment using scissors, or for a more uniform look (and added texture) use Sentiment Banners dies from Honey Bee.
For ‘Moon’ letters, cut three sets of each letter (six O’s) so you can layer and obtain a more substantial sentiment.
Card Assembly
Trim mats for A2 sized card. The larger at 4” x 5 1/4”, the smaller at 3 3/4” x 5”. Layer atop card base using double-sided tape and orient mats flush to upper left corner.
Use double-sided foam adhesive to adhere sentiments atop mats.
Use liquid glue (Collage Distress Medium is a favorite) to adhere moon image to craft foam and the pair atop card base. Continue using liquid glue to adhere ‘MOON’ letters to moon image. Use a t-ruler to ensure proper alignment.
Gently spray Sheer Shimmer Craft spray atop card to add a bit of sparkle. Lightly dab at any overspray. Once card is dry (which only takes a few minutes) your card is complete!
This moon-themed card speaks to my love of astronomy while being easy to create yet providing stunning results. Have you tried layering stamps? Which are your favorite? For more masculine card inspiration, see my post on Masculine Birthday Cards.
