Holiday Gift Tags

Today’s holiday gift tags are quick and easy to put together! Using a 6×6 paper pack keeps color coordinating easy, while a circle die set and paper trimmer make preparation a breeze. As if this wasn’t enough, pre purchased tags maintains a short project time. So follow along and see how easy it is to create some of your own holiday gift tags!

Preparation

To start these holiday gift tags off right, I wanted to pre cut all my elements so assembly was fun and easy. To do this, I began by measuring my tags to determine what size to cut my cardstock elements. My tags (essentially the bottom up to the punched hole) measured 1 3/4” wide by 2 7/8” tall.

Based on the tag measurements, I cut large rectangles measuring 1 1/2” x 2 5/8” and small rectangles measuring 1 1/4” x 2”. I also kept small bits in a pile as well – which came in handy during assembly.

The Sizzix Stacked Circles dies by Tim Holtz were perfect for accent circles, as well as a perfect size to fit around my stamped sentiment. The set comes with five dies each of five sizes, which brings mass cuttings down to a minimum.

For the sentiment, I selected six sentiments from Mama Elephant’s Mini Merry Messages stamp set, and stamped all six at a time using my Misti. I stamped onto scrap bits of cardstock, using ink that coordinated with my paper pack. The middle stacked circle die fit the sentiment perfectly, which is what I used to cut my sentient coins.

Assembly

Once all my elements were pre cut, I began laying out my tags. I played around with different layers, then used Distress Collage Medium to adhere everything together. I worked in batches of 4-5 tags at a time, so keep everything straight.

With that, these holiday gift tags were complete!

I love how easy it was putting these together. The coordinated paper pack kept the guess work to a minimum, and using similar shapes made preparation quick and easy.
