Halloween Wreath Card

Today, I have a fun Halloween Wreath tutorial that is easy to complete, and incorporates all the fun Halloween colors! Utilizing Gina K’s Wreath Builder template and a random stamp set I’ve had in my stash, this card brings together whimsical colors and spooky shapes to fun effect.

Let’s get started!

Stamping the Wreath

To start, I cut a 4” x 4” piece of cardstock (I used Neenah Solar White 80lb), gathered my Gina K’s Wreath Builder template and a stamping tool (I used a Misti today). I position the wreath builder flush in the lower left corner, then place my cardstock inside. I place my first stamp then begin to build my wreath.

After I stamp my first image, I turn my cardstock two turns, re-ink my stamp, then stamp again. I repeat this process four times, until my first wreath layer is complete.

Next, I position a new stamp and repeat the steps above. Continue this process until the entire wreath is built.

Note, for my wreath, I stamped the spider image at each turn – in other words, I did not skip turns when moving the template.

Colors used when stamping: Gina K Amalgam ink, Gina K Tangerine Twist, Gina K Plum Punch and Hero Arts Soft Granite.

Finishing the Card

My finished card will be A2 sized. I decided to add a bit more color to the card, so added a mat (5 3/8” x 4 1/8”) using Gina K cardstock in Key Lime. Using scraps of the cardstock, I cut three sets of the sentiment included with the stamp set.

I glued the three sets of the greeting together to create more dimension. Next, came adhering everything together: the sentiment, card panel and mat to an A2 card base cut from Gina K Black Onyx cardstock.

As a finishing touch, I added Ebony Mix jewels from Little Things using Gina K Connect glue.

This card is bright and whimsical, a fun take on the Halloween theme. Have you been creating Halloween cards this October? What are your favorites?
