Quick Birthday Card

I love spending time in my craft room. I either set up my iPad with some of my favorite youtubers playing, or plug into an audio book. I’m also a mom, and that means sometimes it’s hard to find time to be in the craft room. I’ve found a little bit of prior planning can give me something to work on while my kids are doing their extracurricular activities.

Enter tote bag.

Sometimes I bring pre-stamped card panels and Copic markers. Other times, I bring a notepad and brainstorm. Either way, I’ve got something to keep myself busy while my kids are being enriched in their own ways.

This brings me to today’s project. I didn’t have a lot of time, so I grabbed a card panel I had already colored with Copics. I trimmed the card to 4 3/4” x 3 1/2”, in addition to trimming a bit of black cardstock to 5 1/8” x 3 7/8”, to be used as a mat. My card base is A2, cut from Neenah 110lb Classic Crest cardstock.

To add some interest, I cut a strip of vellum large enough to wrap about the top card panel. I heat embossed my statement with Ranger Black Sparkle embossing powder and adhered to the panel using double sided tape.

I used Distress Collage Medium to adhere the card panels and card base together, then added Ebony Mix gems from Little Things using Gina K Connect Glue. With this my project was complete!

I love how this card turned out, and was happy to get a project completed in the short available time I had today. Sometimes it’s the simple things that make my day!

The stamps are from the Birthday Cake stamp set from Colorado Craft Company. They are part of the BIG & bold collection, and are so adorable! I also have the Sweetest Birthday Cone and Sweet Friend Cupcake sets, so you will be seeing those soon in cards to come! Thanks for joining me today, hope you get some time in your craft room today, if not, fill up a tote bag with some items to keep you busy while out and about!
