and some are so spectacular and versatile that you find perfection in their design. The Folklore die from Pinkfresh Studio is such a die for me. Today’s simple colorful card is created by pairing a folklore die cut with an easy to create colorful background.

Background
Starting with a panel of watercolor paper, add a small amount of Nuvo Shimmer Powder by lightly tapping container. For my panel, I added three colors.
Activate powder by lightly spritzing with water. To help color diffuse and blend, tilt card panel and tap on edges. Try not to over saturate with water, as blotting will remove the shimmer along with the excess water.
Allow panel to dry thoroughly, then trim to 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” (standard A2 card panel).
Die Cutting
Die cut three panels using Folklore die and white cardstock. This is a delicate die cut, and multiple trips through your die cutting machine will probably be necessary. I also added a metal shim to my die cutting sandwich, and even a sheet of card stock for my last fun to assist in a good clean cut.
Using liquid glue, adhere three layers together, working with small sections at a time.
Sentiment
Using a sentiment from Pinkfresh Studio’s My Favorite Things to Say stamp set and shimmery vellum, stamp using VersaMark Watermark ink then heat emboss using Ranger Silver Embossing Powder.
Use a set of circular dies to die cut vellum sentiment, and a slightly larger mat from white card stock. Adhere the two using liquid glue applied behind sentiment so it will not be seen from front.
Card Assembly
To finish off this simple colorful card, use liquid glue to adhere colorful card panel to a prepared A2 card base. Adhere folklore die cut above, then top with sentiment stack.
The shine from the sentiment and vellum ties in perfectly with the shimmer from the background panel. Not only is this a simple colorful card, it’s an easy to create card as well!
