Welcome to a fantastically easy card tutorial! Using Simon Says Stamp Christmas Bulbs dies, today’s card is simple and requires no stamping!
Supplies
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock: 110lb for card base, 80lb for die cutting
Gina K Cardstock in Cherry Red, Fresh Asparagus and Moonlit Fog
Simon Says Stamp Christmas Bulbs dies and a die cutting machine
Archival Ink Pen – Pigma Micron
Die Cutting
The Christmas Bulbs set from Simon Says Stamp is great as it includes four sizes of bulbs. Each bulb has a backer piece, and a topper that includes a panel for the bulb and a panel for the electrical component.
For today’s card, I selected the smaller two bulbs. I cut enough red and green bulbs for my sentiment, then cut just the electrical element from grey cardstock. I also cut enough backer pieces for all bulbs.
After you have your die cuts done, layer and glue them together.
Finalizing Card
Next, place bulbs on your card base (or card panel if you elect to use one). After you are happy with your placement, glue them to the card.
Next, hand letter each bulb. You could also stamp your letters if you so choose. I elected for simple hand letters.
To finish, use an archival pen to draw in your cord. My cord curled and twisted, but simpler lines would look great as well.
This simple card is finished! I love the contrasting red and green over the stark white. It really helps the colors pop. You could add shine using a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen or Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray. I elected to keep my colors flat for this card – not everything needs to be sparkly during the holidays.
