Stamping
Using my Misti Stamping Tool, I positioned my first plaid stripes and began stamping with Pine ink. Cleaning after each impression, I repositioned the stamp before stamping again.
When the first three stamps were complete, I turned my panel and placed the next stripe in my pattern. Now stamping with Cardinal Red I followed the above steps to continue my plaid.
After I completed the green and red portion of my plaid I allowed the card panel to dry completely. As I plan on embossing my final layer of the plaid, a dry panel is required to prevent embossing powder sticking anywhere other than where I stamp.
A quick stamp of a sentiment inside my card panel using Delicata Golden Glitz Pigment Ink really ties in the gold that will be added to the card front.
Embossing
After ensuring my panel was completely dry, I applied the last plaid stripe to an acrylic block. Inking between every impression, I stamped using VersaMark ink. Next, I applied Ranger Gold Embossing Powder and set using my Wagner Heat Tool.
Trimming and Die Cutting
I trimmed my plaid panel to 5” x 3 3/4”, and added a mat of red cardstock measuring 5 1/4” x 4”. I adhered the plaid panel and mat to my card base using double sided tape.
Using Tonic Mirror Card, I die cut my script sentiment while white cardstock was used for the sentiment backer. I adhered these to the card using 3D Foam Squares. The popped up sentiment added just a bit of emphasis, which helped set the sentiment apart from the background.
I love how this card turned out. Plaid is such a fun element to create with as there are endless options to create. Join me again tomorrow for another fun Christmas Card tutorial.
