Layering is a basic technique to add interest to a card. Today, there are numerous die sets for simple layering. Today’s card utilizes Pinkfresh Studio dies and a fun pop-out stamp to create a card with simple layering, but fantastic results.

To start, I began by stamping a card panel with three Catherine Pooler inks (Over Coffee, Sage, Sangria). I used the Pop Out Diagonal Stripes stamp – which can be stamped in it’s entirety, or with stripes removed.
I opted for a repeating pattern, thus stamping only 1/3 of the stripes per color. The diagonal stripe stamp is great as it is easy to orient each stripe within the frame (the frame itself does not stamp).
After stamping, the die cutting began. I selected a Kraft card base (A2 sized), and utilized Pinkfresh Studio’s Ornate Banner die set for my layered mats. The larger banner was cut from Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf card stock, then the smaller banner was used for my striped panel.
The Extra Large Thank You die from Simon Says Stamp repeated the Kraft and Green Leaf colors.
After adhering all layers, and popping up the sentiment using double sided adhesive shapes, a smattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Violet Galaxy finished off this card.
I love how the ornate edge of the banner dies add interest to this card and the oversized sentiment is perfect to tone down the striped panel. The simple layering in this card is easily achieved by using a set of dies such as the Ornate Banner dies from Pinkfresh Studio.
