Red, Black and White Snowflakes

I love the elegance a simplified color palette can create. Today’s red, black and white snowflakes care embodies that simplicity with gorgeous results. Better yet, it’s a quick card to pull together!

Using the Catherine Pooler Peaceful Flakes stamp set, I arranged a sentiment and snowflakes across a card panel cut from Gina K Cherry Red cardstock. Note – for a more natural look, overhang snowflakes.

This first stamping is in black, so I removed the sentiment stamp (it was for placement only at this point) prior to stamping.

After cleaning the stamps I rearranged them for my second layer of snowflakes. Overlap snowflakes and overhang card edges. Prior to stamping with VersaMark Watermark ink, I ensured the black ink from stamping earlier was dry, then treated panel with an anti-static pouch.

After stamping, I heat embossed in white.

Card panel and a mat (Gina K Black Onxy cardstock) were trimmed down (red panel 3 3/4” x 5”, black panel 4” x 5 1/4”) and adhered to a white card base using double sided adhesive.

For a finishing touch, I added Nuvo Crystal Drops in Ebony Black to accentuate the black snowflakes.

I love the boldness of this red, black and white snowflake card. The sophistication in the simple design has enough flair to hold its own white the subtle accents keep it interesting.
