I love to color. Always have. It brings back fond memories of coloring in a Barbie coloring book when camping with my grandparents. Today, I’ve extended my repertoir to include Copic markers. Though my skill level may not warrant them, I still enjoy them – which is what truly matters when it comes to crafting. This rainbow copic coloring card tutorial brings me happiness, and I hope these cards bring you some as well.
Today’s tutorial includes variations on card panels colored with Copic markers. A similar start ends in three different style cards – hopefully one of which will inspire your creativity! I hope you give these Rainbow Copic coloring card variations a try!

Stamping
Begin by looking through your stamps and locating some smaller stamps you think would work together in a wreath or circular formation. Place a Gina K Wreath Builder template in a Misti Stamping tool. I used my 3 3/4” template, and thus cut card panels 3 3/4” x 3 3/4” from Neenah Solar Crest cardstock.
Next, place a card panel inside template and align your selected stamp(s). Transfer stamp(s) to lid and ink, then stamp image. Repeat ink and stamp if desired. Move your card panel one turn, then ink and stamp again. Repeat until your wreath is complete.
For added variety, after your initial wreath is complete, add additional stamps (or the same stamps with new placement) and repeat wreath building process.
Once your card panels are completely dry, color away! I used a rainbow of colors for my cards, ranging from light to dark.
Card Option 1
Select a circular die just larger than your image and die cut. Use the same die to cut a piece of craft foam. Mat your panel with a larger circle die cut from a complimentary cardstock color.
Select a sentiment that will fit on a smaller circle then stamp and die cut. Take an additional A2 card panel and run though a die cutting machine while inside an embossing folder.
Using double sided adhesive or liquid glue, adhere embossed card panel to card base. Adhere wreath panel and colored cardstock mat using double sided tape. Pop up sentiment die cut using double sided foam adhesive shapes. Using the craft foam circle, adhere to back of circular die cut stacks, then adhere to embossed card panel.
I love how the pops of color really stand out on these cards. The textured background creates interest, yet does not detract from the bright colors of the Copic coloring.
Card Option 2
This card option is similar to Card Option 1, except using square dies, and no pop ups using foam. Also, in lieu of a square sentiment in the middle, a die cut sentiment creates interest.
For the sentiment, cut three sets from white cardstock, then a fourth from a complimentary colored cardstock. Adhere the layers using liquid or spray adhesive.
To finish, adhere sequins, pearls or jewels using liquid glue.
The darker grey sentiment really pops above the colorful background on these cards. The pearls add some interest, but don’t make the card too busy.
Card Option 3
This card option is great for using up some scraps! Adhere various sizes of cardstock scraps to card base using double sided tape or liquid adhesive. Completely fill the card, then trim off the excess.
Trim card panel to allow background visibility. The Honey Bee Scallop Squares dies are a great set to bring additional interest to a card panel. Using Scotch Foam Tape, adhere card panel to card base.
Add colored sequins and/or jewels using liquid adhesive to complete this card.
This card embraces color and screams ‘Happy!’ to me.
I’ve been needing rainbows, and these cards have given them to me. Through the relaxing coloring process, to just working with my colorful cardstock has helped bring a bit of happy to a somewhat dreary time we live in right now. Next step, sending these cards out to share my rainbow love and hopefully bring others a bit of happy as well.
If today’s rainbow copic coloring cards aren’t enough for you, see my post on a Rainbow Wreath Shaker Card, which does not need the use of a template to complete.
