Today’s card combines a couple techniques for a simple, yet elegant look. I combined two stamp sets, both from Simon Says Stamp, a couple Distress Oxide colors, and some embossing powder.
I started with a card panel cut from Neenah Classic Crest 80lb cardstock. Using Mowed Lawn and Fossilized Amber, both Distress Oxides, I blended starting from opposite ends until meeting and blending together in the middle. These inks stay wet longer than regular inks, so I gave them plenty of time to dry completely before moving on to heat embossing.
After treating the panel with plenty of anti-static powder, I selected an image from the Wildflowers stamp set by Simon Says Stamp. I stamped the floral silhouette image multiple times to ensure good coverage of VersaMark ink before heat embossing using Ranger’s Copper embossing powder.
Using Gina K Kraft ink, I stamped a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp’s Delicate Flowers stamp set. I mounted the card panel onto Gina K Kraft cardstock and this card was complete.
I love the earthy tones of the card, and the simple elegance gained from the heat embossed image. The floral silhouette set is absolutely beautiful, and I can’t wait until I can use it in future projects.
