Watercolor Sweetest Birthday Card

I am just loving Colorado Craft Company’s July release of their BIG & bold collection and had to pull out the Sweetest Birthday Cone set for some fun today.

I started by embossing the image with black embossing powder from ranger, then continued onto some easy watercoloring.

This ice cream was screaming for some bright watercolors, so I pulled out my mini Jane Davenport watercolor palettes. I love how the color pools around the embossing, it gives great dimension to the project.

I decided to overlay the sentiment using vellum, which I also heat embossed with Ranger’s black embossing powder. A few Ebony Mix gems from Little Things scattered around the surface and glossy accents on the cherry finished this card off!

I have so much fun with these new releases from Colorado Craft Company, they continually keep me inspired. I’ve colored them with Copics, and watercolored them too. I wonder what I will do with them next!

Do you have any stamp sets or collections that continually inspire you? Let me know in the comments!
