Today’s ink blended die cut card demonstrates that seasonal cards can be created without specific seasonal elements. In other words, I’m using Halloween colors and an intricate die cut to create a Halloween ink blended die cut card.

I started by ink blending a panel of Bristol paper using Distress Oxide Inks (Carved Pumpkin, Mowed Lawn, and Seedless Preserves). I followed this up with a light spritz of water from my Distress Sprayer, then allowed the panel to dry thoroughly.
Using the Doily Circle die from Waffle Flower I cut a doily from the panel, which I set aside.
I also die cut ‘Spooky’ and it’s coordinating background from Gina K card stock (Lucky Clover and Plum Punch.
Taking a panel of Black Onyx card stock (also Gina K), I spritzed Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray over the Just Batty stencil from Simon Says Stamp. This leaves a subtle shimmer of bats across the card panel.
I trimmed some matting panels for the card. The A2 card base is Black Onyx, topped with a 5 1/2” x 4” panel cut from Coral Reef card stock, then the bat panel trimmed to 5” x 3 1/4″. Atop this is the doily, then sentiment. Distress Collage Medium was used to adhere everything together.
I love how the doily die cut appears like a spider web, and how the slight shimmer from the stenciled bats adds a bit of interest. The repeated colors help tie everything together, and this ink blended die cut card is perfect for Halloween!
