After starting off my 12 Days of Cardmaking series yesterday with a card using traditional holiday colors, I decided to switch it up. Today’s Season’s Greetings Black and Silver card brings the same messaging, but an entirely different look and feel.
For the video tutorial, click below. Otherwise, keep scrolling to see how I put together this Season’s Greetings black and silver card!
To start, I die cut a panel using the Lawn Fawn Just Stitching Double Rectangles dies. This set creates stitching, but does not cut an outer edge. This is great for cutting window’s inside card panels. For today’s card, I wanted the panel edged with stitching, so after die cutting, I trimmed the panel just outside the stitching lines.
Next, came the stamping and heat embossing. Don’t forget to use an anti-static pouch to prevent excess embossing powder from sticking to your project!
The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed onto grey card stock using black embossing powder. Two Gina K Double Stitch Circle dies were used to die cut the sentiment, and a larger circle of vellum.
Distress Collage Medium adhered all layers together.
The silver and black on this card play greatly against each other, while the layering keeps the eye engaged.
